1. Stand against the drumbeat for war: make some friends from Iran

    This is revolution without risk. It won’t cut into your Starbucks or bookshop budgets but it will be a small act of revolution, countering the military-industrial complex’s need to dehumanize the Iranian people, to make them inhuman and thus a ready target for the next war.

    I’ve made some Iranian friends on Facebook and here. This is how you pierce the fog of government propaganda. Make some friends. Get to know Iranian people. Given what the government cranks out, you will be pleasantly surprised. You will meet some truly remarkable people who, just like Americans, are educated, interested in the arts,  write poetry, like fashion and poetry and music, and are manipulated by a government with it’s own agenda that has nothing to do with their well-being. Same as you. And that’s the point.
